Ughelli kingdom in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State was beheeve of activities at the weekend as the Chief of Staff to the Delta State Governor, Olorogun David Edevbie buries his father, the patriarch of Edevbie Dynasty, late Engr. Okpako James Rangers Edevbie in a blaze of glory in Afiesere community.
The burial ceremony of the late patriarch who died at the ripe age of 93 started with open air Service of Song at Afiesere community on November 7, 2019.
The serene Ughelli Metropolis and Afiesere community was filled with activities as dignitaries from around the globe and across political parties in the country were in attendance.
Traditional chiefs from Ughelli kingdom were among other dignitaries that gave the later patriarch a befitting burial rites with glamour.
The funeral rites started on November 7, 2019 with service of song at Afiesere Secondary school and it was climaxed with special Thanksgiving service at.. on Sunday November 10, 2019.
Dignitaries that graced the funeral rites includes; former President of the Nigeria Senate, Sen Bukola Saraki, Deputy president of the Senate, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo state, Chief James Onanefe Ibori, Sir Benjamin Elue, Prof Amos Agbe Utuama, SAN, Timi Alaibe, Prof Patrick Muoboghare, Maj Patrick Egone, rtd, Desopadec MD /CEO Bashorun Askia Ogieh, Dr Chris Oharisi, Dr. Solomon Ogba, Igho Sanomi, Chairman of Ughelli North LGA, Olorogun Godwin Adode, captain of industries, amongst others.
